Elementary School

What do I do at Gage?

Ever hear of PBIS?  That is Positive Behavior Intervention and Support.  Basically, it means I help students learn to make good choices a lifelong habit.  I also work with staff to make Gage a safe and happy place where all kids can do their best to get smarter!  And since Gage is a PBIS school, we are all in this together!

I am excited to work with our families and staff to help focus on positive behavior strategies and fundamental social skills for helping students and families cope with challenges. Sometimes I teach in the classroom, at school- or grade-level assemblies, with small groups, or individuals privately.  This helps each student develop skills that will empower them in dealing with life's struggles! How COOL is that!!!??

Here are a couple resources I enjoy sharing with others:
Violence/Bully Prevention or
Love and Logic
Get Smart Efficacy/Growth Mindset  and
Why Try?
Zones of Regulation

This year we are focusing lots of skill building on Impulse Control/Stop and Think and Mindfulness, while introducing the Zones of Regulation.  If you would like more specific resources about these, please contact me!

Feel free to contact me if you are also looking for other supportive resources for your family or would like your child to learn more peaceful ways to solve problems. I look forward to building an encouraging relationship with you so we can both help your student.

Here's something to share with your student:
When you go to bed tonight, if you think about your day and are happy and proud about the things you've said and done, then you've made the right choices today! :)
