Parents Can Improve Our School
Your child's first teacher is you, the parent. Research has supported the claim that when parents are involved in their child's education, the child is more successful. Parents are encouraged to become actively involved in their child's education. This may include attending conferences and other discussions with the teacher, classroom volunteering, school project volunteering and reviewing student work and progress.

HOW PARENTS CAN IMPROVE OUR SCHOOL
  • Provide your child with a healthful, stable home environment so that she/he will come to school physically fit and free from emotional strain.
  • Attend PTO meetings and other school functions.
  • Participate in parent/teacher conferences to discuss your child's progress.
  • Show an interest in what your child does at school and encourage him/her to do his/her best.
  • Call the teacher or principal or administrative assistant if you are aware of a problem and would like more information about it.
  • Get acquainted with your child's teacher and show your willingness to help the teacher meet your child's school needs. By working together, parents and teachers can best help children achieve school success.
